Vishnu Maya Upadhyay DNP, MSN, APRN,WHNP-C, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC

Vishnu Maya Upadhyay is a Triple-Certified Family, Women’s Health, and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has been practicing as a nurse practitioner since 2000. Currently, she owns and operates Maya Health Care & Behavioral Health Clinic in Garland, TX, that opened in 2015.

Upadhyay graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Raj Kamari Amrit Kaur (RAK) College in New Delhi, India. After immigrating to America, she received certification in Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from UT Southwestern and another one in Family Nurse Practitioner from Texas Woman’s University. In 2017, she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree with a distinct honor from Chamberlain University. She obtained post doctorate Mental health nurse practitioner certification (PMHNP-BC) from Brandman University in 2021. She has also authored two professional papers entitled:

“Assessment of Grief After Miscarriage Using Perinatal Bereavement Scale for Advanced Nurse Practitioners” and “Screening Tool for Depression in Primary Care for Young Adults.”

Her passion is to promote preventive care and raise awareness and knowledge of health and wellness. She has organized and conducted several free health camps and fundraising speeches. She also gave several health education lectures to various organizations to establish and achieve health goals.

She believes in promoting the Nurse Practitioner (NP) profession. She was assigned the role of online faculty to precept NP students from numerous universities. She has helped NP with consultations on how to set up clinics and be independent. She also shares her knowledge and expertise by offering clinical training to registered nurses and medical assistant students at her clinic.

She lives in Sunnyvale, Texas, with her supportive husband and three loving children.
